Es emocionante darle vida a un personaje histórico, mirarnos en el

espejo de la historia, crear un símbolo.

Del Manuscrito de Huarochirí, que documenta la cosmovisión andina salen las diosas del Altar Femenino. Llacsahuato y Mirahuato son las hermanas sanadoras, representando la energía integral del ser humano, la sanacion para el cuerpo, la mente y el alma. Una está dentro de la otra representando la aoraridad femenina.

Primero la representé en fotografía y video y ahora se va extendiendo a otros soportes.

El 8 de Marzo es el Día Internacional de la Mujer. Es un día que simboliza la lucha contra la violencia que vivimos a diario.

No es un día para celebrar sino para conmemorar nuestra sororidad y resiliencia y a tantas mujeres que lucharon por conseguir los derechos que hemos logrado, como votar, el ir a la universidad, o lograr leyes que nos protejan contra el abuso. Es un día para reflexionar en cómo seguir luchando.

NY was greeted with Andrew J. Hamilton @aloysiusbear83, associate curator of Arts of the Americas of the Art Institute of Chicago, by presenting his last book "The Royal Inca Tunic" at the Emerging Scholars Series of NYU. An investigation of years of "the most famous work of andean art in the world"(in the collection of the Dumbarton Museum). This was a fascinating talk, a whole world of history behind every stitch. "There are more threads per inch than pixels in the screen of the ninth-generation iPad released in 2021".

And I was double greeted by going together to the Weaving Abstraction in Ancient and Modern Art exhibit at the MET. He draw and impersonated a character from a Wari tunic, to show me (and some other visitors) a design that we were not able to perceive. Priceless! Thank you for an unforgettable day dear Andrew.

I am sooo excited to announce that I have been selected as one of the 2024 NYLAAT Artists in Residence at Governors Island from May 3 to June 30. I'll be exploring creation of forms with structures and new materials, inspired on a pin I did honoring our female resilience, that strength that women have developed to bounce back from failures and challenges, learn from them, and emerge stronger  . Este año tuve la oportunidad de iniciar un programa con el que venía soñando, un taller de pintura de Neo Huacos para niños en la Huaca Mateo Salado.

Fue una experiencia fascinante verlos hacer suyo este legado pintando su imaginación, y luego llevárselo a casa! Lo próximo es armar, con patrocinadores, un programa para escolares sin costo alguno.

El huaco retrato Mochica sigue inspirando.

I can't be more thankful for what TRI AD DIALOGUE is bringing: A top meaningful exhibit accompanied by superb artists, my dear friends @erikaharrsch and @yapciramos.

The opening was wonderful and the Artist Talk was magical. A beautiful sinergy was created between us artists, guests, the exhibit, the visitors and the @institutocervantesnewyork staff and space, that felt beyond special.

Ana De Orbegoso seeks to keep our history alive, and with her Neohuacos urges us to preserve it. Orbegoso gives these portraits of the Moche culture of Peru a contemporary air and brings them to the present to preserve the ancient and contemporary history for future generations.

No hay nada más fascinante que el momento de la creación. Tres días de intensidad en el taller del gran @edimerida.escultor en Cusco acompañada por mi querido gemelo @pachi_leo_luna, productor artístico, elaborando un gran sueño en mi secuela de Neo Huacos. Lo que ven será reemplazado por una estructura de tubos de metal reticulado y en el centro un palpitar de rostros. Ya verán. TBC.

Y para coronar la experiencia, el taller se encuentra al lado del Museo Inkariy, la gran obra de la familia Merida. Una verdadera joya de museo sobre civilizaciones del Antiguo Perú donde la Historia toma vida con escenificaciones y personajes a tamaño real. La Historia toma otra dimensión y agranda tu visión. Una experiencia de vida imperdible!!!

Que impresionante asistir a un foro lleno de mujeres dedicado a conectara la sociedad femenina. Mujeres informándose sobre los avances y temas de la agenda pendiente local como la equidad salarial, la atención y crecimiento de las mujeres de mediana edad, la incorporación de más mujeres en los directorios, sobre programas que se van creando en las empresas para evitar la violencia y la discriminación a la mujer. Una sociedad femenina sólida y resiliente en que avancemos todas juntas. Bravo Forbes Mujeres Poderosas!!!

Participarán tres artistas que forman parte de la exposición “Memoria hecha ofrenda”: Carmen Reátegui (@reateguirossello) , Ana De Orbegoso (@anadeorbegoso) e Ivet Salazar (@ivetsalazar), quienes compartirán acerca de sus recorridos artísticos como peruanas, los puntos de convergencia entre sus propuestas para la muestra bajo el concepto de ofrenda como también el cuerpo de obra y nuevos proyectos en los que han estado trabajando últimamente.
